JACKSONVILLE, FL — According to a report from Bloomberg news, home improvement retailer Home Depot is trying its hand at selling auto parts. The company is testing the sale of automotive products at 10 stores in the Jacksonville, FL, market.
An industry analyst told Bloomberg that Home Depot is dedicating about 500-square-feet of floor space to auto products, including motor oil and fuel additives. The report said Home Depot is selling the auto supplies for as much as 22 percent lower than auto-parts retailers, including AutoZone Inc., Pep Boys – Manny Moe & Jack and Advance Auto Parts Inc.
