HELLA Named A General Motors Supplier Of The Year

For the third time in a row, HELLA is among the award winners and receives the award in two categories at once this year.

Lighting and electronics expert HELLA has once again been named Supplier of the Year by the North American car manufacturer General Motors (GM). This means that HELLA is among the award winners for the third time in a row. This year, the company also received awards in two categories: Autonomous/Active Safety Technologies, and Lighting & Bulbs. A total of 122 GM suppliers from 16 countries were honored for exceeding customer requirements, demonstrating exceptional innovation and delivering products of the highest quality in the past calendar year.

“As GM works to achieve a future with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, we are proud to have innovative and dedicated suppliers around the world as partners in this mission,” said Shilpan Amin, vice president of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain at General Motors. “Throughout a challenging year, our suppliers have showed resilience and dedication in working toward our shared goal of long-term sustainability for our planet and the communities we serve, while meeting our present needs. We are pleased with what we’ve accomplished together in the past year and we are excited by the opportunity that lies ahead.”

HELLA and GM have been working together very successfully for more than 30 years. “For us, it is once again a great honor to be one of General Motors’ Suppliers of the Year,” says Jörg Weisgerber, who as an executive board member is responsible for HELLA`s Electronics business activities in North, Central and South America. “Above all, this award highlights the performance and perseverance of our teams in this particularly challenging 2020. Now we look forward to continuing to build on our decades-long relationship with General Motors together.”

The 2020 Supplier of the Year winners were selected by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics leaders. Winners were chosen based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing, Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services, Customer Care and Aftersales, and Logistics.
