RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — As part of the full-day program focusing on "The Commercial Vehicle Industry in Transition," Heavy Duty Dialogue ’09 will include a panel of distinguished top executives from the multi-billion dollar enterprises of ArvinMeritor, Mack Truck and Marmon Highway Technologies/Berkshire Hathaway.
The 75-minute panel discussion, moderated by industry expert Stuart MacKay, president and founder of MacKay and Co., will feature Charles "Chip" McClure, chairman of the board, CEO and president, ArvinMeritor LLC; Dennis Slagle, president and CEO, Mack Truck; and Kelly Dier, president, Marmon HTC-Berkshire Hathaway. The executive panel and moderator will discuss the strategic direction of these companies and the industry drivers influencing their decisions. Additionally, topics such as sustainability, ethics, globalization and market indices will be covered by one or all of the panelists in individual presentations. A roundtable discussion with the panel summarizing the discussion topics will be facilitated by MacKay and will include the opportunity for questions from the audience.
"Heavy Duty Dialogue ’09 is promising to be our most well-attended conference ever," said Timothy Kraus, president and COO of Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association. "The HD Dialogue planning group has carefully developed topics specific to the heavy duty supplier industry with segments on economy, energy policy and sustainability, a CEO panel on strategy, a major OEM top executive, a government affairs panel, an industry expert forecast panel and a discussion of demographic changes in the world market. The intent for the 2009 conference is to encourage a frank dialogue that will broaden the reach of the conference and create a valuable experience for all heavy duty suppliers. We are fortunate to have as our opening presenter, Tom Plimpton, vice chairman of Paccar Inc."
Heavy Duty Dialogue ’09, will be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on Monday, Feb. 16, immediately preceding Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week ’09.
