Hankook Tire has announced that the company’s DynaSYNC, the futuristic concept tire for off-road, has been named a winner at the Red Dot Design Award 2016: Design Concept. The company says the award proves Hankook Tire’s innovative design leadership and premium brand asset recognized by the prestigious global design awards.
Hankook Tire developed the futuristic concept tire in collaboration with Vibram, a premium outsole company. The combination of Hankook Tire’s advanced technologies and Vibram’s hyper-functional outsole designs created the innovative off-road tire.
DynaSYNC is Hankook Tire’s next generation off-road tire, which enables safe and powerful driving in diverse off-road conditions. It features Vibram’s iconic Carrarmato lugs design on its tread pattern to improve traction in mountainous terrain. The honeycomb structure grooves that prevents puncture or tire chips due to gravel or stones. This improves shock absorption and provides powerful and safe handling. And the sidewall comes in a variety of color compounds, allowing car owners to match the tires to their car’s body color.
Seung Hwa Suh, vice chairman and CEO of Hankook Tire, said, “It is great honor that Hankook Tire once again has been recognized for its innovative technology by the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. Receiving the award solidifies Hankook Tire’s commitment and determination to lead future driving through progressive innovation and creative design. Hankook Tire will continue to contribute to advancement in driving with aspiration for innovative technology.”
It is the fourth time in 2016 that Hankook Tire received international design awards for its innovative achievements, following the iF Design Award in February, Mercury Excellence Awards and awards in Product Design category at Red Dot Design Award in March.
This year, a total of 4,698 entries from 60 countries participated in Red Dot Design Award. The award ceremony will take place at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore on Sept. 22.
