Hankook Tire Wins Red Dot Award 2019 For New UHP Ventus S1 Evo 3 Tire

According to the motto “In search of good design and innovation,” winners of the Red Dot Award are selected based on comprehensive evaluation of high design quality including the degree of innovation, functionality, durability and ecological compatibility.

Hankook Tire’s new Ventus S1 evo 3 (K127) tire was recently honored with the Product Design 2019 award at the Red Dot Award event, an award recognition program for high design quality.

The award-winning Ventus S1 evo 3 (K127) is a new UHP flagship tire that provides strong dry and wet handling performance as well as comfort. Highly stiff outside shoulder and in-outside dual pitch reduce noise and enhance performance in wet and dry surfaces, according to the tiremaker. Also, the interlocking outside grooves assure wet grip and avoid hydroplaning on slick surfaces, while securing dry handling performance. However, high fuel-efficiency and safety are not lost in the excellent performance, making the Ventus S1 evo 3 an ideal choice for drivers who prioritize safety, mileage and outstanding handling stability.

Hankook Tire’s President and CEO Hyun Bum Cho said, “We are delighted to be honored again at the Red Dot Design Award. With the addition of Ventus S1 evo 3 this year, following previous year’s multiple wins from the Red Dot Award, Hankook Tire will continue the journey to promote our excellence in product design and further strengthen our premium brand asset around the globe.”

Red Dot Award: Product Design, one of the world’s most prominent design awards, evaluates the design of some best products created every year. According to the motto “In search of good design and innovation,” winners of the Red Dot Award are selected based on comprehensive evaluation of high design quality including the degree of innovation, functionality, durability and ecological compatibility.

Since 2001, Hankook Tire has been winning a series of awards from the Red Dot Award. The studless winter tire, I FIT, and the futuristic concept tire Dyna SYNC were recognized at the Red Dot Award at 2017 and 2016. In 2015, Hankook Tire’s Boostrac concept tire was designated as the “Best of the Best.”
