Hadley, a supplier of components to the commercial heavy-duty industry, has announced the transfer of its Elkhart, Indiana, based interiors manufacturing operations to its corporate headquarters in Grandville, Michigan. An interior sales and engineering office will remain in Elkhart, close to customers and suppliers in that area. The transition to Grandville will take place over a three-month period.
Hadley announced last week the sale of its transit mirrors product line in Elkhart, Indiana, to Safe Fleet.
“We are very proud of our manufacturing folks in Elkhart; it is a great business community with a strong Midwestern work ethic,” said Thomas Bronz, president of Hadley. “The move to Michigan was based on the consideration that Hadley’s existing facility in Grandville will benefit from the additional volume.”
“All of us are very excited to focus on the development and continuous improvement of innovative solutions for our transit and rail interiors customers,” added Giorgio Verduzio, transit interior and lighting director. “Our sales and service team will continue to support local customers from Elkhart and global customers from our Grandville Headquarters.”
Hadley’s 110,000 square-foot facility in Grandville will expand its Interiors capacity and provide exceptional product quality and delivery. There will be no disruption in delivery of products to customers during the transfer of operations.
“Hadley has a great manufacturing team in Elkhart; their growth with the Transit Mirror business sold to Safe Fleet is sure to make us proud,” said Travis Buys, production operations manager. “We are excited by the challenge of trying to match their productivity and quality with the team in Grandville.”
