Goodyear Opens New Plant in China

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s new tire plant in Dalian, China, is now up and running. The tiremaker held a formal opening of the 780,300-square-meter plant Aug. 15.

From Tire Review

Dalian News reports that Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s new tire plant in China is now up and running.

Construction of the 780,300-square-meter plant started in 2009 and was completed in 2011. The tiremaker held formal opening ceremonies on Aug.
15.

The facility actually replaces the tiremaker’s original plant in Dalian, which opened in 1994. Expanding that plant was not possible due to the lack of land, so Goodyear moved elsewhere in Pulandian County to build this new facility.

Transfer of production is to be completed by the end of this year, reports said.
