DENVER, Colo. — Gates Corp. has said that the growing demand for immediate access to relevant content led the company to create interactive YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Flickr pages. Gates has established a dedicated presence on each of these social media channels to encourage ongoing dialogue with customers throughout the automotive aftermarket distribution channel.
On YouTube, viewers and channel subscribers can find how-to videos with tips on everything from selecting fuel hose and inspecting Alternator Decoupler Pulleys (ADPs) to diagnosing belt noise and installing stretch fit belts. The Gates Auto channel also features video content related to industry events and the company’s latest product offerings.
Gates’ Facebook and Twitter feeds will offer timely automotive aftermarket information, auto tips and trivia, industry news, event updates, downloadable resources and more. On Facebook, visitors also can find training information and a link to a dedicated Gates Automotive Aftermarket Training page.
A photostream on Flickr allows Gates to share images of Gates-sponsored race teams, Gates Centennial celebrations and automotive industry conferences and expos.
“Gates has been an innovator in the automotive parts industry for the past 100 years, and we’ve been able to accomplish this by continually focusing on the future,” said Kent Van Oort, advertising and marketing communications manager. “Our innovation now extends to social media, where we are providing customers, educators, technicians and consumers with the latest product and industry information in real-time. Gates has joined the social media conversation.”
