Gates Corp. Launches ‘Century Bucks’ Program

Century Bucks program encourages technicians to inspect and replace all worn system components and gives them a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas as well as cash prizes.

DENVER – Gates Corp. has released a new promotional program designed to encourage professional service centers to make the right system repair recommendations for their customers. The new program, called Gates Century Bucks, will run from May 1 to July 31 and offers three technicians the opportunity to win a trip to Las Vegas for Industry Week. They will also have a shot at winning $100,000. Additional prizes include the chance to win one of 100 $100 gift cards and $25 gift cards for shops that are part of Gates mystery shopper experience. Participants will earn entries by installing Gates belts, tensioners and accessory component kits in May, June or July of this year.

“We’re excited about the system inspection and repair message this program will promote,” said Todd Hack, vice president of automotive aftermarket, Gates. “We really want to encourage technicians to inspect and replace all worn components in a system, not just a belt. Since all components in a system wear at about the same rate, this program encourages techs to think about the system as a whole and replace all worn components at the same time.”

Technicians have the option to participate digitally with online submissions or by printing out an official entry form to keep track of installations. Technicians are rewarded with more entries for entire system replacements versus individual components, thus emphasizing Gates’ ongoing “Be System Smart” initiative that launched last year.
