Gates Announces Promotion Of Mark Osterman

In this new role, he will lead the Gates-branded field sales organization driving organic growth, market share and new product sales into the wholesale distribution channel.


Gates has announced the promotion of Mark Osterman to senior sales director for Gates brand U.S. automotive replacement market. In this new role, he will lead the Gates-branded field sales organization driving organic growth, market share and new product sales into the wholesale distribution channel. Osterman will be based at Gates’ corporate headquarters in Denver.

“Mark has brought tremendous success in his roles at Gates from OEM Sales to the Global Product Line Management,” said Lou Rosen, senior vice president of replacement market for the Americas at Gates. “He has made an immediate positive impact on our business through industry leadership and customer engagement. His extensive and well-rounded background in sales, product management and application engineering is beneficial as we drive revenue growth in new products and work to achieve our strategic initiatives.”

Osterman joined Gates in 2004 as an application engineer in the fluid power organization. He then joined the U.S. automotive replacement team in 2015 as a product group manager. In 2017, his role was expanded to include the management of the cataloging and data services teams. Prior to joining Gates he was a development engineer for Goodyear, where he created new tread compounds for NASCAR race tires.

Osterman earned his master’s degree from the University of Oregon and his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
