Fritz Driver, previous owner Gopher Motors, and a longtime member of the Production Engine Remanufacturers Association (PERA), passed away on Dec. 25. He was 91.
According to Joe Polich, executive vice president of PERA, Driver was usually found in the background with John and Bill Smith taking the lead with PERA, but Driver was an important part of the Gopher operation, working with vendors securing and maintaining the inventory.
Driver is survived by his wife Joan; children: Fritz, Paul, Kathy (Brett) Servin, Daniel, Jody (Jack) Heitzman, Susan, Raymond (Diane), Mary (Kevin) Olson, Penny (Scott) Larson; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial preferred to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
