Fleet Technical Congress Added To The Work Truck Show 2018

At the Fleet Technical Congress, fleet managers can explore the latest technology solutions while gaining management insights from leaders of some of the country's biggest fleets and suppliers.

NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry – has introduced the Fleet Technical Congress to be held in conjunction with The Work Truck Show 2018 and Green Truck Summit next March in Indianapolis. At Fleet Technical Congress, fleet managers can explore the latest technology solutions while gaining management insights from leaders of some of the country’s biggest fleets and suppliers.

Part of Work Truck Week, the Fleet Technical Congress kicks off with a full day of training on Tuesday, March 6, at the Westin Indianapolis adjacent to Indiana Convention Center. The Work Truck Show 2018 will be held at Indiana Convention Center March 6-9. Educational sessions and Green Truck Summit begin March 6, and the exhibit hall is open March 7-9.

“Professional fleet manager attendance at The Work Truck Show continues to increase,” said Steve Carey, NTEA executive director. “Our new Fleet Technical Congress will provide the growing number of fleet managers at the show with a higher level of technical and management training to help them successfully integrate and leverage the latest technology and innovations into their fleet operations.”

Fleet Technical Congress is designed for both established fleet managers and those who are moving into more senior fleet management roles. It will provide the tools, techniques and thinking they need to succeed. General session topics will include discussions on the future of commercial vehicles; reactive vs. predictive maintenance; the impact of smart, connected vehicles; how to integrate multiple data streams to enhance decision-making; benefits and risks associated with vehicle data; and techniques for improving equipment replacement strategies. A full schedule with session descriptions and presenters will be released when registration opens in October. Visit worktruckshow.com/fleettechnicalcongress for more information.

“We see two significant trends acting as change agents in the fleet management world,” said George Survant, NTEA senior director of fleet relations. “First, there’s a whole new range of technology and tools associated with commercial vehicles that is changing the face of the industry in a substantial way. At the same time, we’re seeing a significant refreshing of leadership in professional fleet management nationwide. As a result, we believe this is an opportune time to capture the lessons learned by some of our industry’s top fleet professionals who will share their experiences and vision as a foundation for the next generation of leaders.”

In addition to the full day of general sessions on Tuesday, March 6, registration for Fleet Technical Congress includes access to 48 concurrent sessions on topics such as truck specifications development, fleet productivity, risk mitigation, emissions reduction and alternative fuels, OEM chassis updates, workforce development, and more; a ticket to the Work Truck Show Opening Reception Tuesday evening; access to the exhibit hall; lunch each day; and access to the Ride-and-Drive on Wednesday and Thursday. Registration opens in October.

The Work Truck Show is North America’s largest work truck event. It features the latest vocational trucks, vans, vehicle components and truck equipment on an exhibit floor covering more than 500,000 square feet. The event includes a robust educational conference with sessions designed to help attendees improve their operations. Anyone who works with commercial vehicles, including public and private truck fleet operators, manufacturers, dealers and equipment distributors can find solutions to their business challenges at the show.

Registration for The Work Truck Show 2018, Fleet Technical Congress and Green Truck Summit opens in October. Sign up to receive event and registration information at worktruckshow.com or call 800-441-6832.
