Fisher Auto Parts Continues Expansion; Acquires Robbins Auto Parts

Robbins Auto Parts, which has served the New Hampshire market for more than 76 years, joined the Federated Auto Parts programmed distribution group in 1985.

DOVER, N.H. — Robbins Auto Parts, headquartered in Dover, N.H., is joining forces with Fisher Auto Parts of Staunton, Va. The announcement was made jointly today by Robert Weisner, Stanley Robbins and Rick Robbins, second-generation owners of Robbins Auto Parts, and Bo Fisher, the third generation owner and CEO of Fisher Auto Parts.

Robbins Auto Parts, which has served the New Hampshire market for more than 76 years, joined the Federated Auto Parts programmed distribution group in 1985. The company’s 2008 sales from twelve large stores and a centralized distribution center were roughly $30 million.

“This move puts Robbins Auto Parts in a great and exciting situation, one that positions us well for the future,” said Stanley Robbins. “We’ve been working with the Federated Group for over 20 years so it makes for a perfect partnership. Our people and stores will remain the same, as will our one-on-one service. Now, we’ll have the systems, inventory and buying power of one of the country’s leading privately-owned auto parts chains behind us. This is more of a beginning than an ending,” continued Stanley Robbins. “Fisher Auto Parts will give us the strength and ability to provide even better service for our customers. It’s an exciting time for us.”

In coordination with its 80th Anniversary, Fisher Auto Parts’ acquisition of Robbins is in addition to other early 2009 new store openings planned in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Further expansion by Fisher Auto Parts is projected in the near future, including two new distribution centers.

“Given the outstanding reputation of Robbins Auto Parts and the team members, we couldn’t be more pleased to invite them into our company,” said Bo Fisher, CEO of Fisher Auto parts. “Rick Robbins, Stan Robbins, Bob Weisner and the entire Robbins team have built an extraordinarily strong organization with a history of providing the best parts and service to their customers. We fully intend to carry on the tradition they have established. We are honored that Stan and Bob have elected to continue to lead the way in this market area.”

Founded in 1929, Fisher Auto Parts currently operates 38 locations in New England and approximately 300 overall.
