Fisher Auto Parts Continues Expansion; Acquires Pat Young Service Company

Pat Young Service Company is an 85-year-old entity providing service to northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and southern Michigan. The company joined the Federated program group in 1985.

STAUNTON, Va. – Fisher Auto Parts, founding member of Federated Auto Parts Distributors, is to acquire Pat Young Service Company on Nov. 1, it was announced today by Duke Young, president of Pat Young Service Company, and Bo Fisher, CEO of Fisher Auto Parts.

“The professionalism and talent pool are off the charts within the 46 company-owned stores, numerous independent jobbers and 150,000-square-foot Valley View warehouse that make up this successful company,” said Fisher. “As the name implies, Pat Young Service Company has a strong history of going the extra mile to service customers. We believe this acquisition will ultimately prove to be both a strong strategic and financial positive, enabling us to take another significant step into a geographically contiguous area in the automotive aftermarket.”

“This is an exciting time for us,” said Young. “We feel that this will give Pat Young the strength and ability to provide our employees and customers with an even higher level of service and inventory availability. Customers can continue to be served by the same local people, combined with the systems and services of one of the country’s leading privately owned auto parts distribution chains.”

Fisher Auto Parts’ acquisition of Pat Young Service Company comes on the heels of its recent acquisition of Crystal Lake Auto Parts, Robbin’s Auto Parts and a number of new store openings. In addition, a 200,000-square-foot distribution center in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and 70,000-square-foot distribution center in Raymond, N.H., opened earlier in 2010. Further expansion by the company is planned in 2011.

Founded in 1929 by Blair Coiner, Fisher Auto Parts has approximately 360 locations and more than 2,500 employees in 15 states.
