Fisher Auto Parts Acquires Cap’s Auto Parts

Fisher Auto Parts, Federated Auto Parts founding member, has acquired Cap’s Auto Parts; it was announced by Larry Jedrey, general manager of Cap’s Auto Parts and Gary Shifflett, chief operating officer of Fisher Auto Parts.

STAUNTON, VA — Fisher Auto Parts, Federated Auto Parts founding member, has acquired Cap’s Auto Parts; it was announced by Larry Jedrey, general manager of Cap’s Auto Parts and Gary Shifflett, chief operating officer of Fisher Auto Parts.

“Given the high quality and reputation of the employees, we are especially pleased to add the Cap’s group to our company,” said Shifflett. “The late Greg Milonas built a strong organization and Cap’s has a long history of providing the best parts and service to their customers.”

Cap’s Auto Parts, headquartered in Lynn, MA, was founded in 1935 and joined the Federated Auto Parts programmed distribution group in 1985.

“This is an exciting time for us,” said Jedrey. “Fisher Auto Parts will give us the strength and ability to provide our customers with an even higher level of service. Customers can continue to be served by local people, combined with systems and services of one of the country’s leading privately owned auto parts distribution chains.”

Fisher Auto Parts’ acquisition of Cap’s is an addition to other recent acquisitions and new store openings in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Massachusetts. Further expansion by Fisher Auto Parts is expected in the near future.

“In coordination with our 75th anniversary in 2004, our plan is to add 75 additional locations during a flexible time frame driven by our financial results,” said Fisher Auto Parts Chief Executive Officer, Bo Fisher.
