NEW YORK — The first-ever New York Vehicle Show, known as the “V Show,” will debut July 20-23, bringing cool cars, hot rods and an eye-popping array of wheels, tires and aftermarket parts from around the globe to the Jacob Javits Center.

The V Show is dedicated to automotive enthusiasts from around the world and the $250 billion automotive aftermarket that feeds their needs. With more than 5,000 suppliers in the vehicle specialty industry, space is limited. Only a small percentage of applicants will be able to be accommodated on the 410,000-square-foot main floor of the Javits Center. Exhibitors are signing up quickly and the show is expected to sell out, according to show organizers

“We are thrilled to offer the industry access to the greatest city in the world where the V Show will bring the top automotive specialty products from the world’s most important companies to New York City,” said the show’s president, Richard Caires of United Expos, LLC. “The reaction to this show is outstanding. Outside of Auto Industry Week in Las Vegas, this will be the biggest specialty show in the nation and the only one based in New York City. The V Show will give companies the chance to showcase their creations with maximum exposure to a large and enthusiastic audience. This is a market that just can’t get enough of these products and the exhibitors are looking forward to a major industry event on the east coast.”

In addition to The V Show, United Expos’ principals Richard Caires, president, and Douglas Caires, CEO, have built an international reputation for creating and managing trade shows, with events in Las Vegas, Miami, New York and Rio de Janeiro. United Expos won the Expo Magazine 2005 “Best New Trade Show” title for its 2004 International Tile and Stone Show also at the Javits Center in New York.

The V Show is planning appearances by hip-hop artists, race car drivers and other celebrities and has also announced several new sponsors including Pirelli Tire, BP Amoco and Year One. Pirelli will be the “official tire” of the show. Look for Pirelli’s exhibit at The V Show complete with the “Pirelli Girls” and the infamous “Pirelli Calendar.” Amoco Ultimate will be the “official fuel” of the show and will showcase its display by way of an interactive demonstration housed in a custom built gasoline tanker.

Also joining the V Show sponsor lineup is Year One, one of the largest reproduction parts suppliers for the muscle car industry. The company, which hosts an extensive online shopping mall for car enthusiasts, began by selling used parts out of a garage in Atlanta. Today, the company produces print and online catalogs containing Chrysler, Ford and GM parts and accessories.

“The automotive aftermarket is a $250 billion industry. It deserves a great show like this on the East Coast. The V Show will deliver everything suppliers and enthusiasts are looking for,” Caires said.

The New York V Show will be open from 10am to 5:30pm each day during the event. Admission is $12 for visitors and for the trade. Thursday, July 20 will be open to the trade and press only.
