First Brands Group Launch Autolite Into Europe At Automechanika Frankfurt

Autolite is distributed in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia and now the European aftermarket.

Autolite will be coming back to the European market with a spark, launching through its parent company First Brands Group with a stand at Automechanika Frankfurt .

Autolite was founded in 1911 when two small companies started producing buggy lamps, becoming a thriving automotive parts manufacturer by the 1930s. But its history as a spark plug manufacturer began in 1935 when Royce G. Martin, President of the Electric Autolite Company, staffed a lab to develop the first Autolite spark plug.

It only took a few months before the Electric Autolite Company had a spark plug available for distribution, which was an instant success, as the brand supplied spark plugs and other ignition parts to automotive leaders including Chrysler, Studebaker, Packard and Willys.

Currently, Autolite is distributed in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia and will now be making its mark in the European aftermarket too, with stock available to European distributors immediately following the Automechanika show.

Other brands that will be on the First Brands Group stand include original equipment (OE) wiper blade manufacturer, TRICO who will be showcasing the latest developments in wiper blade technology, and water & fuel pump manufacturer Airtex, who’s revamped brand image will be on display at Automechanika for the first time.

The focus of the group’s presence at the event will be to inform visitors of the wealth of benefits its brands can offer, whether its technical advice, premium quality products or simply marketing support, so its experts will be on hand to discuss these opportunities throughout the duration of the event.

Group Brand & Marketing Manager (Europe), Sam Robinson, said: “After a four year break, we’re thrilled to be going back to Automechanika Frankfurt to reveal the exciting developments of our three core brands at the show. Autolite is an incredible brand and one that will benefit the aftermarket hugely so we’re excited to see the feedback we get from visitors, as well as what they think of all of our other news!

“Our primary goal is to inform everyone, current and future customers, what’s happening in the company and how we can help them expand. It will certainly be busy at the First Brands Group stand.”
