FindItParts Announces Matching Donation Campaign To Raise Funds and Awareness For Prostate Cancer Research

Monies raised will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to accelerate research and cures for the 3 million U.S. men battling the disease.

FinditParts, an online supplier of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, has pledged its commitment to the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s (PCF) community fundraising initiative, called Many vs Cancer, to match 100 percent of donations made through its website beginning in September, which is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and continuing through all of 2018.

Most of FinditParts customers are men, and since one in nine men will be diagnosed with the disease, the company believes that bringing attention to the issue on their website could potentially save lives. FinditParts says it will match all funds raised with no cap on the amount. The company hopes this pledge will take the campaign to the next level by turning awareness into action and giving all customers an opportunity to make double the impact on a disease that continues to take the life of a man every 18 minutes.

“After a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, I learned that the prevalence of the disease is similar to that of breast cancer, yet you just don’t hear much about it,” said David Seewack, founder and CEO of FinditParts. “I realized that I could make the greatest impact by starting a dialog where I have an audience and by raising the much needed funds to find a treatment for my friend.”

A “round-up” and donation option has been added to the FinditParts checkout process, however making a purchase on the site is not a requirement for making a donation. A “FinditParts Supports Many vs Cancer” microsite has been created with links to free downloadable information about the disease and its prevention as well as information about how to get involved through Many vs Cancer, PCF’s online fundraising community.

“We are so grateful to David and his team at FinditParts for stepping up to accelerate game changing discoveries of new precision cures for men with prostate cancer,” said Jonathan Simons, MD, PCF’s president and CEO.  “He is the first in his industry to take on prostate cancer as a cause, and we hope that through his special leadership others in his industry will follow.”

Although the program kicks off during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, FinditParts donation matching program will remain active through the end of 2018. No purchase is necessary to participate.
