BOLOGNA, Italy Organizers of the 2013 Autopromotec international exhibition of automotive equipment and aftermarket products, held May 22-26 in Bologna, Italy, have reported a total of 1,512 exhibitors and 102,536 visitors to this year’s event.
Event organizers say these final numbers confirm the exhibition’s success. This edition was characterized by a high number of exhibitors, with 39 percent coming from 52 different foreign countries and a high visitor turnout (102,536 in total), of which 83,594 were from Italy and 18,942 from abroad.
Compared to the 2011 event, there was a slight decrease in the number of Italian exhibitors (approximately -1.8 percent). In particular, this involved businesses that were more badly hit by the economic crisis, such as car wash stations, dealers and workshops while attending tire and overhaul businesses were still numerous, the show’s organizers reported. On the other hand, with respect to the successful 2011 edition, there was a significant increase (+ 2.2 percent) in the number of foreign visitors, including representatives from many high-profile, highly specialized businesses which once again confirms the quality of the stands as well as of the meeting and conferences that were organized. There also was a significant increase in B2B meetings, showing how the exhibition is an extremely important meeting point for exhibitors and visitors.
In addition to a high number of exhibitors and visitors, Autopromotec 2013 featured a series of conferences providing added value to the exhibition. The events forming part of AutopromotecEDU offered its participants food for thought on the automotive aftermarket in Italy and in the world’s most strategically important countries, once again demonstrating the exhibition’s focus on the professional growth of the market and its players.
Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere, commented, “Autopromotec 2013 was a great success. In the future, the partnership between BolognaFiere and Autopromotec will continue to provide a crucial support to the ‘made in Italy’ and the Italian automotive market. In particular, BolognaFiere will continue to act as an international platform and meeting hub for Asian, European and American market players, as shown by the higher number of foreign operators attending Autopromotec 2013.”
The next edition of Autopromotec will take place at Bologna’s exhibition center from May 20 to 24, 2015.
