SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Federal-Mogul has introduced its Champion brand to the automotive filtration category, with comprehensive lines of oil, air and cabin air filters. According to Federal-Mogul, these new lines feature best-in-class quality and construction for do-it-yourselfers who are looking for reliable and affordable performance from a brand they know and trust.

Champion oil and air filters are available immediately, while Champion premium oil filters and an all-makes/all-models offering of cabin air filters will be available in March.

“Extensive consumer testing shows that the Champion brand name outperforms other major brands in terms of overall consumer preference and trust. Our new filter program builds on this significant advantage with filter designs that provide the protection required for today’s demanding engines,” said Mike McKee, product director, service products, Federal-Mogul.

The Champion line includes 53 oil and 183 air filter SKUs that provide 98 and 90 percent coverage, respectively, of the North American passenger vehicle population, the company says.

Champion oil filters are designed to provide optimal engine protection and service life through substantially higher multi-pass capacity and efficiency, according to Federal-Mogul. Each filter is engineered and constructed to meet or exceed original equipment specifications and features an optimized filtration media that traps 96 percent of contaminants as measured through the ISO 4548-12 multi-pass test procedure, the company says.

“As one of the world’s premier OE engine parts manufacturers, Federal-Mogul is uniquely qualified to provide advanced filtration products that help extend engine life,” McKee said. “Our extensive global engineering resources enhance the power and value of the Champion brand in the minds of many consumers, and help auto parts providers sell more products and establish stronger customer relationships.”

Champion filters are offered retail packaging that leverages the brand’s signature red-and-black trade dress and iconic “bow tie” logo.
