Epicor Introducing Graphical eCatalog To Help Automotive Parts Businesses Grow Sales, Enhance Service Levels

The optional new PartExpert graphical interface enables users to identify parts by clicking on interactive diagrams of application-specific vehicle systems.

Epicor Software Corp., a global provider of enterprise software to promote business growth, is introducing a graphics-based electronic catalog interface designed to help automotive parts providers speed the lookup of all aftermarket and/or OE components needed for a specific repair. Demonstrations of the new Epicor PartExpert graphical eCatalog interface will be offered in Epicor booth No. 2238 during AAPEX, taking place from Oct. 31-Nov. 2, in Las Vegas.

The optional new PartExpert graphical interface enables users to identify parts by clicking on interactive diagrams of application-specific vehicle systems. This intuitive approach helps users of any experience or skill level visualize part location and design and quickly identify related parts that might be needed to complete the repair, according to the company. Links open an exploded system diagram highlighting the corresponding OE and/or aftermarket component and display a visual status of other parts in the system. Clicking a part within the diagram automatically performs a catalog lookup on that component.

“Our development team has been hard at work in collaboration with automotive parts and service professionals to establish new benchmarks for catalog usability and value,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive, analytics and content, Epicor. “The result is a truly best-in-class tool that will help customers drive growth at the counter, in the service bay and online. This new interface can make any aftermarket professional more accurate and proficient in identifying, selecting and ordering parts.”

Available to any user of a Windows or web-based PartExpert eCatalog product in conjunction with Epicor enterprise software or a partner solution, the new interface extends the value of the Epicor automotive replacement parts database, which comprises more than 12 million parts representing nearly 7,900 supplier product lines.
