Epicor, Auto Repair Compare Collab on Shop Estimating Tool

The new ARC Smart Quoter tool leverages Epicor ISE solution to help shops optimize the consumer experience.

Epicor, a global leader of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, has collaborated with automotive aftermarket technology provider Auto Repair Compare (ARC) in the launch of a next-generation tool that enables consumers to receive accurate repair quotes on a 24/7 basis via their preferred service shop websites. The new tool leverages the Epicor Integrated Service Estimator (ISE) solution to guide consumers through a highly automated online quoting process that is designed to foster transparency and trust and help increase internet conversion rates.

“We are very excited to combine Epicor ISE with our state-of-the-art, patented quoting platform technologies to offer an all-encompassing solution designed to transform both the consumer and service writer experience,” said ARC President Rick Goodwin. “Epicor ISE guides the user through a fast, easy process to generate an accurate repair quote that is fair to both the consumer and service provider.”

The Epicor ISE solution is a cloud-based estimating and parts sourcing tool that reduces the time needed to identify and accurately estimate virtually any common vehicle maintenance or repair need. The solution instantly provides the information needed to identify necessary services and parts and automatically applies shop-defined labor times and rates as well as parts pricing, with markup, from authorized local vendors.

“ARC is unlocking the value of ISE in a new way, enabling service providers to be successful in the digital marketplace,” said Tim Hardin, senior vice president and general manager, Global Auto, Data, and Extend Services, Epicor. “Platforms like ISE support the buying process of today’s world, where virtually any product or service, including auto repair, begins from a mobile device. The bottom line is consumers expect transparency and convenience.  Shops that empower research on repairs and pricing are far more likely to earn service opportunities.”

ARC reports that shops using its consumer-facing technologies have experienced a 60% average conversion rate among online visitors who receive a quote. “Our success demonstrates the value of connecting with consumers when, where and how they prefer – which is increasingly online across almost all age groups,” Goodwin said. “We believe our new, ISE-powered quoting tool will drive conversion even higher, whether the consumer connects online, by phone or at the service counter.”

In addition to enabling shops to offer free quotes online, Epicor says the Integrated Service Estimator solution empowers service writers to more quickly complete comprehensive, accurate estimates that streamline the approval process and boost shop productivity and profitability. The solution is already in use at thousands of service locations across the U.S. and Canada.
