EnerSys To Showcase ODYSSEY Batteries And Chargers At The 47th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

“We look forward to sharing our ODYSSEY battery offering at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, and engaging the passion of such an elite community of enthusiasts,” said Alan Kohler, transportation and specialty marketing manager at EnerSys.

EnerSys, a global provider of stored energy solutions for industrial applications and manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, will showcase its ODYSSEY batteries and chargers at the 47th annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in booth 38A. The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction will be held from Jan. 13-21 at WestWorld of Scottsdale in Arizona.

Inspired by technology originally developed from military design, ODYSSEY batteries provide a combination of power and performance ideal for a wide range of applications, including automotive, light tactical vehicle, classic and modified vehicles, heavy-duty/commercial vehicles, marine and powersports, says the company. ODYSSEY batteries are designed to handle the increased use of onboard accessories, and are engineered to withstand harsh environments and the most demanding conditions.

“Barrett-Jackson is the ultimate collector car event because it is fueled by genuine car people,” said Alan Kohler, transportation and specialty marketing manager at EnerSys. “We look forward to sharing our ODYSSEY battery offering at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, and engaging the passion of such an elite community of enthusiasts.”

ODYSSEY batteries feature thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology, as well as absorbed glass mat (AGM) separators that hold acid in place to prevent spills, even when installed on their sides. TPPL technology is applied to the manufacturing of flat plates made of 99.99 percent pure lead, not lead alloy. These pure lead plates are made thinner, enabling more to fit in the battery for increased plate surface area. The additional surface area enables TPPL batteries to generate more power as well as provide longer service life, greater reliability and deep-cycle capabilities.

ODYSSEY batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). They are vibration-resistant and classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

EnerSys also will showcase its complete line of ODYSSEY battery portable chargers. The all-digital power charging platform is packaged in a rugged housing of extruded aluminum, providing weatherproof protection in all conditions. In addition, they feature a user-friendly interface with a LED battery charge monitor that provides users with a relative charge level status at a glance during operation. A system “OK” and battery fault trouble status indicator eliminate time-consuming troubleshooting by confirming that system and battery connections are intact or indicating if a fault is present prior to charging the battery. With automatic six-stage charging and a wide range of built-in safety features, ODYSSEY battery portable chargers facilitate full and proper charging, which may help to enhance the performance and extend the life of ODYSSEY batteries and other quality brands of 12-volt flooded and AGM lead acid batteries.
