Are electric cars a real alternative to ones with traditional engines? This question inspired the launch of the first edition of Electric City, scheduled to take place from May 25-28 in Bologna as part of Autopromotec 2022. The 600 square metres of exhibition area will allow visitors to discover vehicles capable of meeting even the most diverse needs, from city cars to high-performance touring cars. There also will be futuristic hypercars that anticipate the mobility of the future, thanks to the presence of the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio.
This exhibition will be located in an area of high sustainability, starting with the use of energy produced by renewable means and the offset of CO2 through the planting of trees. Electric City provides an unconventional setting characterized by a connected city reproduced throughout the exhibition area, on which the various vehicles will be displayed.
Electric City: the cars on display
The main objective of Electric City will be to provide more than 100,000 expected visitors with a genuine overview of electric mobility, offering solutions for the various market segments. Walking through the connected city, reproduced in Hall 29, attendees will see vehicles that range in size from compact cars, such as the Dacia Spring, to high-performance electric cars, such as the Audi RS e-tron GT with a system voltage of 800 V and 646 horsepower. The same voltage is used on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (the recent winner of the World Car of the Year 2022 award), which is exhibited close to other market innovations, such as the BMW i4. For lovers of high-tech maxi SUVs, there is the BMW iX, while for those looking for something a little more compact and with coupé lines, the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron will be on display. Among the preview cars present, there will also be the new Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. Furthermore, the alternative green power supplies will be represented by the hydrogen powered Hyundai Nexo.
