LAKE FOREST, IL — An automotive technician from Reading, Pa., will meet NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Jeff Gordon, and the DuPont Teflon Car Care brand will be featured on Gordon’s No. 24 Chevrolet as the new line of car care products celebrates its successful first year during Saturday’s UAW-GM Quality 500.

DuPont Teflon Car Care brand products, manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Automotive through a strategic product alliance and license with DuPont, are now available through more than 10,000 auto parts stores across North America.

Doug Fierro, owner of a Reading, Pa.-based automotive reconditioning business and part-time drag racer who uses DuPont Teflon Car Care products on his passenger vehicles and racecar, won an expenses-paid trip for two to the UAW-GM Quality 500 through the DuPont Teflon Car Care brand “Race to a Great Finish sweepstakes. The promotion encouraged consumers to discover the exclusive benefits of DuPont Teflon Car Wash, DuPont Teflon Car Wax, DuPont Teflon Protectant Liquid Spray and Wipes, DuPont Teflon Wheel Cleaner, DuPont Teflon Spray Wax and DuPont Teflon Tire Shine.

In addition to the grand prize trip to the UAW-GM Quality 500, authentic DuPont Motorsports race jackets and hats were awarded to five runner-up winners and limited-edition die cast replicas of Gordon’s No. 24 Chevrolet were presented to 10 second-prize winners.

To mark the successful first year of its latest product line, the DuPont Teflon Car Care brand will be displayed in a location on the TV panel of Gordon’s car during Saturday’s race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Concord, NC. As one of the 10 “Chase for the Nextel Cup” championship points events, the UAW-GM Quality 500 is expected to attract one of the sport’s largest television audiences of 2004.

“NASCAR’s new championship format is generating tremendous excitement among racing fans, and we’re obviously very pleased to celebrate the strength of the new DuPont car care line in this environment,” said Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing and engineering, North American Aftermarket, for Tenneco Automotive. “DuPont Teflon Car Care products have been a true success story, not only at the retail level but for end-users who are looking for breakthrough products to help them clean and protect their vehicles.”

DuPont will expand its car care offering with a variety of new products for 2005, Alameddine added. The company also will introduce a broad line of advanced chemical additives formulated to enhance vehicle performance and reliability.
