Douglas Battery Expands Distribution

In response to increased demand on the West Coast, Douglas Battery has expanded its California distribution center.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — In response to increased demand on the West Coast, Douglas Battery has expanded its California distribution center.

Douglas battery is a privately owned manufacturer of automotive and industrial batteries. The company currently operates distribution centers in North Carolina, Iowa, Texas, California, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

The California distribution center began operating in 1999, storing between 5,000 and 8,000 units. On July 1, Douglas moved into a new facility capable of housing 12,000 to 15,000 units. The facility has seven full-time employees and services three route trucks.

“Five years ago we started out as an OEM distributor, but with the dedication of our sales and marketing department we have increased our SLI business to more than 60 percent of our total sales” said Richard Rogers, regional operation manager for Douglas Battery.
