Ed Doerr Named Plant Manager For Eaton’s Kearney, Neb., Engine Valve Facility

In his new position, Doerr will report to Kathy Grisdela, director of operations, Automotive North America. He will be responsible for developing and driving the long-term strategy and direction of the Kearney plant.

DoerrJEdwardKEARNEY, Neb. – Eaton has appointed Ed Doerr plant manager of its Kearney, Neb., facility, which is part of the company’s Vehicle Group. The Kearney facility produces engine valves for global vehicle manufacturers. Doerr’s appointment is effective April 15, 2015.

In his new position, Doerr will report to Kathy Grisdela, director of operations, Automotive North America. He will be responsible for developing and driving the long-term strategy and direction of the Kearney plant. This includes initiating growth opportunities as well as enhancing safety, employee engagement, quality, and productivity and customer satisfaction.

“Ed has demonstrated strong leadership qualities throughout his career with Eaton that have helped improve the safety and efficiency of our operations,” said Grisdela. “His cross-functional experience, creative problem-solving and communication skills will be a great asset to the Kearney team.”

Doerr has held positions of increasing responsibility since joining Eaton as a business team leader in the Vehicle Group’s Truck business in 2003. He most recently was plant manager for the company’s Aerospace facility in Euclid, Ohio. Doerr was plant manager at Eaton’s Vehicle Group facilities in Shenandoah, Iowa, and Auburn, Ind., and was a product line manager. Prior to joining Eaton, he worked for Raytheon Aircraft Company and Boeing Commercial Airplane Group.

Doerr holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree in finance and marketing from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan.
