DMA Sales, a manufacturer and supplier to the automotive aftermarket, has named DC Operations Manager, Sarah Kenney, as its 2018 Employee of the Year. She was previously named DMA’s Employee of the Year in 2016.
“With tears in my eyes and gratitude in my heart, I am pleased, honored and humbled to accept this very prestigious award,” said Kenney. “I would like to thank senior management for the guidance, tools and support that they have given me, especially over the past few years. I also want to thank my colleagues. I could not have done any of this without you guys and gals.”
Kenney began working with DMA in 2013 and has more than 25 years of experience in distribution management.
“Sarah lives the company’s values every single day,” said John Treece, president and CEO of DMA. “She has earned the respect of those working with and for her through leading by example. Her commitment to servicing our customers to the best of her ability is evident in everything she does.”
In addition to the “Employee of the Year” award, DMA recognized five additional employees for outstanding performance in 2018. Maria Treece and Olga McIntyre were awarded the “Rising To The Challenge” award for their operational leadership in the opening of DMA’s new Mullins, South Carolina, distribution center. Falin Bowers was awarded the “Bright Idea” award for her innovative ideas and work within the company’s supply chain planning efforts. Jimmy McCumbee received the “Going Beyond The Job” award for his leadership and willingness to support the company beyond his specific job duties.
In 2018, DMA initiated a monthly employee to employee recognition program called the “You Inspire Me” award. This monthly award is given by an employee to another employee for their inspiration to fellow employees who have assisted them in overcoming setbacks in their life, demonstrated the “can do” passion embodied in the company’s vision, and provided an example of how to treat others with decency and humanity. During the program, DMA also recognized these 12 monthly “You Inspire Me” award winners.
“This award is very special because it comes from your peers. It’s been a real pleasure being one of the 12 ‘You Inspire Me’ honorees for 2018. To know that you have the ability to inspire someone that you work alongside of is an uplifting feeling,” said Karl Johnson, assistant DC operations manager. “If the world was full of more of these types of people, just think how much better it could be.”
