STAUNTON, Va. Federated Auto Parts has awarded its first-ever “Industry Advocacy Award” to longtime member Dick Beirne. The award was presented to Beirne at Federated’s annual national meeting in Orlando, Fla.
“An industry is only as strong as its members and their dedication to its success. At Federated, we encourage industry involvement and decided to recognize those Federated members and associates who have gone over and above to contribute to the aftermarket,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “Dick Beirne is the ideal choice to receive our inaugural Industry Advocacy Award. He willingly volunteers his time and talent, and is dedicated to the betterment of Federated and the aftermarket. We congratulate Dick and thank him for his outstanding contribution to our great industry.”
Beirne, president of United Auto Supply in La Crosse, Wis., is currently serving as treasurer of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA). Beirne has served for many years on the AWDA Board of Governors, including a term as chairman when AWDA was transitioning to its current status as a segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
Beirne’s company, United Auto Supply, was founded in 1958 as a single store. Today, it serves customers in three states with 13 stores and a distribution center. United Auto Supply also offers automotive machine shop services and a complete selection of paint and body shop supplies. United Auto Supply became a Federated member in 1986.
