TROY, Mich. — Delphi Corp. announced its support of National Car Care Month, a vital part of the Be Car Care Aware educational campaign designed to increase public awareness about the benefits of good vehicle maintenance and repair. A well cared for vehicle is safer, more dependable and more economical to operate. In addition, emissions are reduced, which improves air quality. Delphi supports National Car Care Month and encourages its customers to participate.

To support its customers, Delphi Integrated Service Solutions, part of Delphi Product & Service Solutions, released its scheduled quarterly update for the DS platform on April 1, a full two weeks prior to its regularly scheduled release. The updates will include reminders about April being Car Care Aware Month, the Car Care logo and a hot link to the website.

Delphi provides a state of the art wireless, integrated system that applies business and technical management processes to automotive repair shops to help increase profitability. These award winning, patented processes help increase the average value of repair orders and average number of repair orders closed per day. Specific information regarding the DS800 can be viewed at http://delphi-iss.com.

Delphi is encouraging its customers to participate in the National Car Care Month by hanging signage, website banners, on-hold telephone messages, brochures or vehicle check lanes. The DS800 is perfect for voluntary “Vehicle Check Lanes” by using the Vehicle Walk Around Inspection and the Service Bay Quality Control reporting features. Both take very little time and yield the highest return for both the customer and the shop. For information on how to get started, visit www.carcare.org.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act” (H.R. 4468) with bipartisan support (221 to 197), with five Democrats and each Republican member voting for the bill.

If passed into law, the SEMA-supported bill would prohibit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from finalizing the agency’s proposed federal emissions standards for light- and medium-duty motor vehicles model years ’27 to ’32, which intends for electric vehicles (EVs) to make up 67% of all new vehicles sales by 2032. The CARS Act also prevents future EPA motor-vehicle emissions regulations that would mandate certain technologies or limit the availability of vehicles based on engine type.
