Dayco To Open Heavy-Duty Decoupler Business In China

This win comes on the heels of a recent agreement to supply a heavy-duty decoupler to China's largest engine manufacturer.

Dayco, a leading global manufacturer of engine products and drive systems for the automotive, heavy-duty and industrial markets, announced it will be supplying its advanced heavy-duty decouplers to a leading truck manufacturer in China.

This win comes on the heels of a recent agreement with a leading Chinese truckmaker to supply a heavy-duty decoupler to China’s largest engine manufacturer, which will appear in the line-up of several truck makes and models. Production from Dayco’s state-of-the-art decoupler facility will begin in early 2022, powering the commercial vehicle market in China.

From supplying robust decouplers for commercial vehicles to premium integrated damper-decouplers for luxury cars, Dayco supports leading vehicle manufacturers as a strategic solutions provider, known for its superior quality products. Dayco says its unique decouplers for modern high-efficiency engines continue to address the needs of truck and premium car manufacturers to improve fuel economy and drive system durability, reduce CO2 emissions and optimize noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), bringing future technology evolution across the globe.

“We are the first to design and deliver a robust decoupler product portfolio to our customers with full system support that maximizes the lifecycle of original equipment for a wide range of heavy-duty, light-duty, premium, and hybrid applications. Our premium decoupler offering, along with viscous dampers, further strengthens our competitiveness in the commercial vehicle segment. We will continue to reduce carbon footprints and develop powerful solutions like decouplers to provide best in class and sustainable future mobility solutions to our customers”, said Wouter Nijenhuis, executive vice president of oe sales and business development for Dayco.

Dayco says it is currently the only brand in the industry that offers a premium package of complete FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) system solutions including decouplers, dampers, tensioners, idlers/pulleys and belts, all in one place with world-class global R&D capabilities and local manufacturing footprints. With more than a decade of success in light vehicle hybridization and state-of-the-art decoupler technology, Dayco now brings this technology to the heavy-duty industry.
