Dayco Enters Manufacturing Agreement With HFAK

The agreement will further strengthen Dayco’s manufacturing footprint In China.

Dayco, a leading engine products and drive systems manufacturer for the automotive, heavy-duty and industrial market segments has further strengthened its manufacturing footprint in China by partnering with Jiangsu Hongfeng Co., Ltd (HFAK) in the manufacture of its viscous damper product line. This partnership will allow Dayco to expand its best-in-class solutions for commercial vehicles and heavy-duty applications.

HFAK has more than 14 years of experience manufacturing silicon oil dampers for diesel engines in China. Dayco’s global research and development capabilities coupled with HFAK’s lean manufacturing expertise will allow Dayco to provide customers with a full line of premium viscous dampers.

“Dayco is committed to delivering our customers the most innovative, top of the line solutions. Combining Dayco’s product technology with HFAK’s viscous damper production experience, will allow Dayco to deliver on that promise swiftly,” said Wouter Nijenhuis, executive vice president, OE Sales and Business Development for Dayco.

This partnership is part of Dayco’s global strategy to strengthen its footprint across regions, bringing the manufacturing of viscous dampers closer to customers. Additionally, Dayco is preparing in-house production for viscous dampers in various locations globally with plans to start production in India later this year.

More than 2,500 hours of research, design, and testing go into every product that Dayco makes – and viscous dampers are no exception. Designed to maximize power system stability while minimizing noise, torsional crankshaft vibrations and harshness, this premium line of dampers helps prevent crankshaft failures and extends the lifespan of associated components while improving a vehicle’s overall fuel economy. With this new addition, Dayco rounds out its damper product line offering.

Innovation and creativity, coupled with analytical and empirical validation are key factors that distinguish Dayco as the technical leader in damper products. In addition to viscous dampers for commercial and heavy-duty applications, Dayco will also be offering viscous dampers with decouplers for premium light and heavy-duty vehicle applications.
