Standards Testing Laboratories Inc. (STL), one of the world’s largest independent testing facilities for tires, wheels and related automotive components, has appointed Dave Martin to the position of director of technology. In this position, Martin will provide tire testing services for customers, and represent Standards Testing Labs on various technical committees.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. He has 30 years of experience in the tire industry, and has held various engineering positions at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Hankook Tire Co. and Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.
Martin began his career at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. working as a tire development engineer. He was a race tire engineer at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. While working for Hankook Tire Co., he helped establish the company’s first motorsports programs in the United States. Most recently, Martin worked as a senior project engineer for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.
Based in Massillon, Ohio, Standards Testing Labs operates testing facilities in Massillon and San Angelo, Texas.
