SHANGHAI Robert Pyle, president of Dana‘s Asia Pacific business, has been named one of the Top Ten Automotive Managerial Talents by Gasgoo International, a leading online news source for the automotive industry in China.
The award was presented on April 18 at Gasgoo’s 2013 Fifth Annual Global Automotive and Auto Supplier Industry Summit. The award ceremony recognizes individuals and organizations that demonstrate excellence and innovation in the automotive industry. Criteria for the Top Ten Managerial Talents award include a review of the candidate’s leadership experience and organizational performance.
In the past year under Pyle’s leadership, Dana announced the opening of two new facilities in Wuxi, China the Dana China Technical Center and a new aftermarket distribution center and debuted Spicer Rui Ma drivetrain products, a new class of axles, transmissions and driveshafts that are designed and manufactured in China, for China. Sales for the Asia-Pacific region experienced double-digit growth in 2012. Dana has a global network of 94 major facilities, including 10 in China, which allow the company to respond quickly to specific market trends for its customers in each country.
Pyle has extensive leadership experience, especially in the Asia-Pacific automotive supplier arena. Prior to joining Dana, he was general manager for Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems Co. Ltd., a Visteon joint venture in China. He also served as the vice president of corporate development for ASIMCO Technologies Inc., a privately held automotive company based in Beijing.

Dana will be exhibiting at Auto Shanghai 2013, where it will showcase a lineup of driveline and alternative energy solutions available to OEMs in China and the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, Dana will introduce a complete all-wheel-drive system designed specifically for the Chinese light vehicle market that improves performance and handling. Dana also will highlight a complete portfolio of technologies designed to assist automakers in their efforts to build more efficient, higher-performing vehicles.
