MAUMEE, Ohio – Dana Holding Corp., a global leader in the manufacture of efficient drivetrain technologies, has received the Best Supplier Award in the vehicle proprietary category from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a leading producer of cars, utility vehicles and commercial vehicles in India. Dana was recognized for superior technology and exceptional overall performance in quality, delivery and responsiveness.
The Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Supplier Awards were presented during the Annual Suppliers Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company honors suppliers across various categories, recognizing performance in quality, cost, product development, innovation and business.
Dana’s joint-venture facility in Chakan, India, supplies a range of Spicer axles and driveshafts to Mahindra & Mahindra vehicles, including the Mahindra Quanto, the company’s first compact sport-utility vehicle. Dana’s axles provide greater ground clearance, improved fuel efficiency and added durability for India’s diverse driving conditions, the company notes.
The Chakan facility is part of Spicer India Ltd., a joint venture between Dana and Anand Automotive Systems. Established in 1993, the joint venture manufactures axles and driveshafts, as well as genuine service parts, for the automotive and light-commercial-vehicle domestic and export markets.
