TOLEDO, OH — Dana Corp. said this week it has completed the $6 million expansion of its heavy vehicle research and development center in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The Heavy Vehicle Technology Center is the North American base for Dana’s Commercial Vehicle Systems group, and also serves as the research, development and testing center for its commercial vehicle and off-highway products.
The $6 million expansion adds 15,000-square-feet of research, development, and testing space to the existing 155,000-square-foot facility. The enlarged building includes new, advanced testing equipment, including an MTS axle dynamometer. Additionally, the facility’s new 1,000-square-foot strong-floor bedplate strengthens Dana’s structural testing capabilities.
According to the company, the expansion was necessary to facilitate the research and experimentation for new concepts and ideas.
