FINDLAY, OHIO — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has re-launched its historic Avon tire brand and also announced an exclusive distribution deal with The Tire Rack and the unveiling of three new lines. The announcement was made at a meeting attended by top Cooper officials and The Tire Rack executives at The Tire Rack’s headquarters in South Bend, Ind.
The Tire Rack, now the exclusive wholesale distributor of Avon brand tires in the U.S. and Canada, will also offer the brand direct to consumers via its mail-order and online retail systems. Cooper is manufacturing the tires at its plants in Findlay, Ohio; Tupelo, Miss.; Texarkana, Ark.; and Melksham, England.
The current offering includes the Tech R, a DOT-competition tire; the Tech M500, an ultra high performance summer tire; and the Tech M550 A-S, an ultra high performance all-season tire.
