FINDLAY, OH — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. said it plans to add capacity at its Findlay, Ohio, tire plant with an equipment investment of $1.8 million. The capacity will increase by 500,000 tires annually and add at least 30 additional jobs in the Findlay production facility.
“We are pleased to take this action to support the growing customer demand for Cooper tires,” said Bill Woeste, vice president manufacturing. “This expansion allows us to increase production of high performance tires and also add new equipment to enhance our quality and productivity.
Woest said the facility should be running at full production levels with new equipment in place by late summer.
In January, Cooper announced investments in its other three U.S. tire plants: Albany, Ga.; Texarkana, Ark.; and Tupelo, Miss. With Findlay included, the total investment in U.S. production is nearly $34 million with added capacity of almost 3 million units annually.
