Continental Tire the Americas Named ‘Best Places to Work’ Finalist

The company is among 10 finalists in the 'large business' category for the Charlotte Business Journal Award.

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Continental Tire the Americas LLC (CTA) has been selected as one of 10 large business finalists in the Charlotte Business Journal’s "Best Places to Work" Award.

The award recognizes companies with benefits, policies and practices that are among the area’s best. The annual evaluation of the work environment is based on employee surveys, which are conducted by a third party. Continental Tire the Americas has nearly 400 employees at its Charlotte, S.C., area headquarters who were able to participate in this survey.

"Our employees are the heart of our business," said Matthias Schoenberg, CTA CEO. "Their feedback resulted in CTA being named a finalist for this prestigious award, and that makes this recognition very special.

"Continental Tire the Americas has enjoyed business growth in the past two years, despite the poor economy, and our employees deserve the credit for this success," Schoenberg said. "And we’ve worked hard to create for them a work environment that values their contributions and provides them with outstanding careers."

A key part of the employee experience at Continental is the company’s new, state-of-the-art, $11 million facility — a 75,000-square-foot building that sits on 11.5 acres in northern Lancaster County.

Previously known as Continental Tire North America, the company announced in February its name change for both Passenger and Light Truck and Commercial Vehicle Tire divisions to Continental Tire the Americas LLC.  Continental Tire the Americas is headquartered in Lancaster County, S.C.

"We felt this name change was appropriate due to our growth in the key South American markets, as well as our improved market position in North America," said Schoenberg. "It better reflects our current scope and our future focus on our business throughout the Americas region."
