Continental Battery Co. has announced its acquisition of Ellis Battery Co. This marks the fourth acquisition of the year for Continental.

Ellis Battery was founded in 1998 by Dwayne, Darron and Lesley Ellis in Fredericktown, Missouri. Over the years, the business has grown steadily to now include six locations in Missouri, with a new site in Byhalia, Mississippi, which serves the Mississippi and Western Tennessee markets.

“We are so excited to partner with Ellis Battery. Dwayne and Lesley Ellis are incredible people who have built a great business operating with the highest integrity. We are proud to have them join our Continental team and help us to grow the Ellis locations and scale some of their winning strategies to our entire network,” said Eric Royse, president and CEO Continental Battery.

Ellis sells both wholesale and retail from its customer-friendly locations and says it has developed a sizable rebuild market as well. Dwayne Ellis commented, “The battery specialist field has changed drastically over the past three years. We decided in order to be able to continue to grow, provide great prices and ensure the success of our employees to join the Continental Battery team and are very excited about this decision! Lesley and I will continue to work at Continental and ensure our customers receive the same quality and service they have grown to expect from Ellis Battery.”

The transition of integrating the two companies will begin this summer.
