Chrysler announced Monday that its discussions of a strategic partnership with Chery Automotive have ended.
According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, Chrysler and the Chinese automaker mutually agreed to end discussions of a possible partnership. The two automakers had been looking into the possibility of working together to bring small Chery-made vehicles to North America and Europe, under the Chrysler brand.
The Free Press report said internal changes at both companies as well as the current economic environment prevented the partnership from moving forward.
