ALBION, Ill. Champion Laboratories Inc. created and delivered “care packages” for United States troops stationed in Iraq. The 30 care packages20 for men and 10 for womenconsisted of wish-list items such as shampoo, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, hard candy and books. They were put together in the third week of June and then sent overseas so they could be in the hands of the troops on Independence Day, July 4.
The project was initiated and completed by members of Champion Laboratories’ Global Procurement department. This was the second set of care packages delivered to troops in Iraq in the last year and just the latest in a series of altruistic events undertaken by Champ’s nine-member Global Procurement team. Others include the “Adopt a Family for Easter Dinner” program and delivering care packages to nursing homes in the Albion, Ill., area.
