OVERLAND PARK, KS — The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) announced that its “S/P2” online training in Safety and Pollution Prevention has surpassed the 150,000 student level in automotive mechanical and collision repair training programs throughout the U.S.
“S/P2 will develop good work habits right from the first day on the job for these students who will enter the workplace over the next several years” said Rod Enlow, CCAR’s Director of Industry Relations. “They will be a positive influence on other technicians who have not yet had the opportunity for training in workplace safety and environmental compliance.”
S/P2 was developed by CCAR in accord with U.S. EPA and OSHA regulations, which require that shop personnel and students be trained before entering the work area and at least annually on safety and environmental regulations. More than 1,800 schools use S/P2 free of charge, include those in the Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES), the Ford Technical Career Entry Programs, the General Motors ASEP and BSEP programs, DaimlerChrysler’s College Automotive Program (CAP), and the Toyota Technical Education Network (T-TEN).
The S/P2 system records students’ progress throughout the training, grades tests, and enables students to print certificates of completion for their personal portfolios.
