CCAR Announces Renewal of Preferred Vendor Status with CARSTAR to Provide S/P2 Training

CCAR's Internet-based S/P2 training addresses the key safety and pollution prevention issues that professionals face working in automotive service and collision repair.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) has announced the renewal of its preferred vendor status with CARSTAR Franchise Systems to provide CCAR’s “S/P2” e-learning program to CARSTAR locations through the end of 2010.

CCAR’s Internet-based S/P2 training addresses the key safety and pollution prevention issues that professionals face working in automotive service and collision repair. S/P2 was developed by CCAR in accord with U.S. EPA and OSHA standards, which require that shop personnel be trained at least annually on safety and environmental regulations.

CCAR has been a preferred vendor to CARSTAR since S/P2’s introduction in 2002. Headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., CARSTAR is the largest franchised group of independently owned and operated auto body repair shops in the North America. CARSTAR currently has approximately 270 locations in 27 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and 110 Canadian locations.

"We value our partnership with CARSTAR and are excited about their ongoing commitment to environmental best practices, workplace safety and pollution prevention education and training,” said Daren Fristoe, CCAR president and chief operating officer. “As we expand our product and service offerings in the coming year, we look forward to growing with the CARSTAR franchise system.”
