BETHESDA, Md. — The National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) continued its tradition of contributing to the Aftermarket Foundation at the annual NCMA Knowledge Exchange, which took place recently in Newport Beach, Calif. At the conference, NCMA presented the Aftermarket Foundation with $5,500. The check was accepted by Scott Luckett, AAIA, on behalf of the Foundation and represents the second highest amount ever raised at the Knowledge Exchange conference.
In addition to the amount raised through a silent auction and a variety of charity raffles, special gifts by MOTOR Information Systems and Pricedex Software added significantly to the gift and brought the final amount to $5,500.
Speaking for the Foundation, Don Schlenger, chairman emeritus, said, “For years, NCMA has been raising awareness and money for the Aftermarket Foundation and I am humbled by this. The Foundation is the heart of the aftermarket, taking care of people in our industry (yours and mine) who have fallen on difficult times and have no where else to turn. For them and from us at the Foundation, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
“It says a lot about the people of NCMA that they can dig deep and contribute to the Foundation so generously in this challenging environment,” said NCMA president Chris Nierintz, product manager, Dorman Products. “From the special gifts of MOTOR and Pricedex to the dollar raffle ticket purchases, every donation was made with a warm smile.”
Over the years, NCMA has raised more than $30,000 for the Aftermarket Foundation.
The 2010 NCMA Knowledge Exchange is scheduled for April 24-27 at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, Texas.
