CARSTAR, Original One Parts Honor Outstanding Managers

Parts managers Aaron Bedwell, Doug Mullins, Rick Voris, Don Stefan and Mike Walker were each nominated by their supervisors.

CARSTAR, North America’s premier network of independently-owned collision repair facilities, recently recognized five parts procurement team members at four CARSTAR locations across the United States for their performance, dedication and contribution to successful operations through a promotion sponsored by Original One Parts.

Original One Parts knows the importance of receiving the right part, with the right form, fit, function and finish to keep the production flow moving forward and help maintain good cycle time metrics. That process starts with person who orders the parts.

The following parts managers were nominated by their supervisors and selected for their outstanding performance. Each winner received a gift card for Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Aaron Bedwell, nominated by Heath Harris, CARSTAR Arnold in Arnold, MO

“In addition to his role as parts procurement, Aaron is also our sublet coordinator, completes all the in-house ADAS scanning and diagnostics, and schedules all of our sublet vendor operations,” said Harris. “His technical knowledge has proven to be a real asset to our store as sublet and mechanical repairs are such a large component of the repair process on today’s modern vehicles. Along with our other staff members in the office, production and detail areas,  we have a high-performing team that provides great support for our disassembly for repair (DFR) process and repair technicians.”

Doug Mullins, nominated by Heath Harris, CARSTAR Arnold in Arnold, MO

Doug is an outstanding employee that demonstrates a great work ethic and brings great value to our team each and every day,” said Harris. “His positive attitude and ability to adapt and overcome, combined with his organizational skills, make our parts department one that’s hard to beat! Our parts procurement process allows our parts department to correctly mirror match 100 percent of the parts that come through our store. It’s a task that takes dedication, patience and, most importantly, efficient time management.”

Rick Voris, nominated by Brad Adams, Sheer Metal CARSTAR in Plano, TX

“Rick does an incredible job!” said Adams. “He consistently hits our store parts gross margin percentage targets and maintains an exceptionally low number of pending credit memos. Others outside of our shop have commented on multiple occasions that Rick is a standout among other parts managers with whom they work. Most importantly, Rick cares about doing the job the right way the first time, and he works well with the team around him to make this happen.”

Don Stefan, nominated by Lou Scola, CARSTAR Scola’s Collision Center in Chicago

“Don is a top-notch employee,” said Scola. “He keeps the parts department well organized, mirror matches every part, and manages returns diligently.  He follows through on all parts orders and stays on top of backorders to keep the workflow moving through our shop. He’s the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure all customer vehicles are inside and the store is locked up.”

Mike Walker, nominated by Tim Flagg, CARSTAR Tanners Paint and Body in Springfield, MO

“Mike will come in early and stay late,” said Flagg. “When a part is on back-order he goes into action and starts looking elsewhere for those parts because he understands the importance of delivering a customer’s vehicle on time. He communicates with both the estimators and the technicians to make sure they have what they need, and when a part arrives, he gets it to the tech right away so they can keep working.”
