BETHESDA, MD — In conjunction with its 20th anniversary, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation is reaffirming its commitment to the educational needs of the aftermarket, electing Dave Caracci to serve as chairman of the board of trustees.

Caracci replaces former chair Robert Raff, who has retired from the post after eight years of volunteer service. Caracci currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and recently retired from Robert Bosch Corp.

The University of the Aftermarket Foundation was chartered in 1986 as the AWDA University Foundation to provide funding for aftermarket education programs and research. The foundation has gained a reputation as the driving force behind providing business management education within the industry.

“The foundation is positioned to be the stabilizing influence in an industry undergoing changes of increasing complexity,” said Caracci. “Our first priority is to survey industry thought leaders to explore the current and future education and training needs of the aftermarket. Then we will begin revitalizing the dynamic and valuable activities of the foundation.”
