Car Care Council Reports Increased Web Site Usage, Women’s Board Membership Up

In 2003, usage of the Car Care Council's Car Care Newspaper Supplement (CCNS) Web site grew dramatically, the council said. The growth coincides with the first year of the Car Care Council's "Be Car Care Aware" consumer-education campaign. In addition to the news of increased usage of Car Care Council materials, the Car Care Council Women’s Board’s announced that its membership more than doubled in 2003, setting a record high number.

BETHESDA, MD — In 2003, usage of the Car Care Council’s Car Care Newspaper Supplement (CCNS) Web site grew dramatically, the council said. The growth coincides with the first year of the Car Care Council’s “Be Car Care Aware” consumer-education campaign.

Each spring and fall, the CCNS assembles informative vehicle maintenance and enhancement articles, supporting illustrations, photos and graphics from a variety of automotive-industry trade associations, aftermarket manufacturers and maintenance service providers. This editorial content is posted on the CCNS Web site: www.carcaresupplement.com.

Publications throughout North America utilize its free content on a continuous basis, throughout the year, said the Car Care Council. More than 1,300 registered publications now access the CCNS Web site content throughout the year. This free service for newspapers and other publications is made possible through the support of the Car Care Council, as well as the financial sponsorship of leading automotive aftermarket manufacturing and service corporations.

In addition to the news of increased usage of Car Care Council materials, the Car Care Council Women’s Board’s announced that its membership more than doubled in 2003, setting a record high number.

“I’m thrilled to say that 2003 was a really good year for the Women’s Board and we are expecting nothing less in 2004,” said Jennifer Tio, president of the Car Care Council Women’s Board. “We’ll be kicking off our membership drive at our annual winter meeting in San Francisco, so we’re looking forward to welcoming new members throughout the year.”

The Women’s Board is comprised of professional women and men, including motor-sports figures, service-shop owners, service writers, association and company executives and consultants, who are dedicated to informing female audiences about proper vehicle maintenance and safety, while encouraging young people to investigate automotive career choices.

The Women’s Board has various levels of membership including, advisory board membership, professional associate membership, sponsor membership and student membership. Advisory board members and professional associate members attend meetings, with advisory board members becoming more involved in the execution of activities to achieve Women’s Board goals. Sponsor members support the Women’s Board efforts with their membership, but do not attend meetings.

Individuals interested in membership in the Women’s Board can contact Jennifer Ortiz at 301-654-6664, e-mail [email protected] or visit the Women’s Board Web site at http://women.carcare.org.
