Car Care Council Partners with Haynes Manuals to Provide DIY Information to Consumers

DIY information is currently available in the following areas: air filter; coolant; hoses; battery; tires; cleaning and polishing; wipers; and lights.

BETHESDA, Md. – The “Be Car Care Aware” (BCCA) campaign has partnered with Haynes Manuals to provide light do-it-yourself (DIY) content for consumers. In addition to linking directly to Haynes Manuals’ “Tips from the Pros” information, DIY guidelines and videos for multiple parts and components will be featured on the BCCA site’s opening vehicle schematic at www.carcare.org.

“Thanks to the generosity of Haynes Manuals, the council is now able to expand our assistance to those consumers who seek to perform some basic vehicle maintenance and parts replacement themselves,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.

“Haynes Manuals is happy to partner with the ‘Be Car Care Aware’ campaign, as we both strive to inform and educate the public about their vehicles and their care, including repair and maintenance,” said Eric Oakley, Haynes Group chief executive. “Haynes is pleased to provide the new content on the BCCA site with the hope that our videos, articles and photos help the consumer to understand that they can work on their vehicle – and let Haynes show them how.”

DIY information is currently available in the following areas: air filter; coolant; hoses; battery; tires; cleaning and polishing; wipers; and lights. More tip sheets and videos are in development and will be posted throughout the year.

Founded in 1960, Haynes Manuals sells more than 7 million automotive and motorcycle maintenance and repair manuals annually. Every manual is written from the step-by-step procedure of dismantling a particular vehicle part-by-part. As a result of having completed more than 2,000 teardowns, Haynes offers close to 500 manuals in the U.S.
