AMSTERDAM – ReMaTecNews is seeking nominations for the magazine’s annual Remanufacturer of the Year Award for 2013. This year’s award winner will be announced June 16 during the ReMaTec2013 international remanufacturing. ReMaTec2013 will take place June 16-18 at Amsterdam RAI, The Netherlands.

Instituted in 2005, the Remanufacturer of the Year Award honors an individual or business that has served the automotive or heavy-duty reman industry with distinction. Previous winners over the past eight years include prominent leaders in the field of remanufacturing, such as Phillipe James of Remy Automotive and Carsten Bücker of BU Drive Group. The winner in 2012 was Doug Wolma, general manager, remanufacturing, at Meritor. Wolma and Meritor received the award in recognition of Meritor’s outstanding performance within its global operations, advanced technological skills, substantial investments in reman and a highly visible commitment to remanufacturing.

"Receiving ReMaTecNews‘ 2012 Remanufacturer of the Year Award was a great honor for Meritor," Wolma said. "The ReMaTec brand is recognized internationally as a significant voice for the industry. Confirmation of our efforts to create world-class processes and products from an industry leader is a source of pride for us.  Copies of the award are now on display in our offices and plants around the world to remind customers and employees of the respect which our reman activities enjoy within the automotive and commercial vehicle industry world-wide.”

The panel of judges currently consists of Volker Schittenhelm, FIRM (International Association of Engine Rebuilders and Remanufacturers); Fernand Weiland, APRA’s European Division (Auto Parts Remanufacturers Association) and William Schwarck, editor-in-chief, ReMaTecNews.

Judging criteria are technical excellence, dedication to quality, innovation and impact on the reman industry. Other factors taken into consideration include outstanding customer service, pioneering activities and commitment to the cause and promotion of automotive and heavy-duty remanufacturing.

Parties interested in applying will find the terms and conditions and an application form at rematecnews.com/exhibition. All nominations must be received by May 15 and will be assessed by the Judges in June. The winner will be announced on June 16, the opening day of ReMaTec2013.
